Eucadian Performance is proud to present our Phenolic Intake Spacer Kit, engineered specifically for the VG30 and VG33 engine platforms utilizing our Gutted 300ZX or Gutted Maxima plenums.
Our spacers are precision CNC machined from 3/8” (9 mm) thick Garolite G10/FR4. This material is a highly durable, flame-retardant composite with exceptional thermal insulation properties. Garolite G10 provides a thermal conductivity roughly 200 times lower than aluminum, making it ideal for reducing conductive heat transfer.
The Heat Soak Problem
The intake plenum on the VG30 and VG33 engines is mounted directly to the lower intake manifold, allowing heat from the engine to directly transfer to the intake plenum, resulting in an unwanted rise in intake air temperatures. This phenomenon, known as heat soak, causes a reduction in air density, oxygen content, and ultimately a decrease in combustion efficiency and engine power.
Engineered to Minimize Heat Soak
Our spacer acts as a thermal barrier by isolating the intake plenum from direct metal-to-metal contact, significantly reducing heat transfer through thermal conduction. This results in cooler, denser intake air, maintaining optimal intake temperatures and consistent performance. This is especially beneficial during sustained high-performance conditions.
